Pune is a rich place to be when it comes to the world of movies. It houses the national films archive which is special because it was actually someone’s home which has been converted, So it’s a person with a lot of passion for the medium and unique ethos. The cinema hall is carpeted and has velvet chairs. One of the only places where we take our footwear out as we enter-a places that manifests work as worship. I got a membership to this place and was introduced to global cinema. I fell in love with the work of Akira Kurosawa and Satyajit Ray. I watched French, Japanese, Hollywood and classical Indian movies from many other languages. Once you cross the half an inch barrier of subtitles, the whole world of cinema opens up. These were my college years when my tryst with films and cinema really took off.
I’ve approached films as an actor, a director, a producer and I hope we can create something together too! Films are powerful tools and we must claim that power to express what excites us:)
