For a very long time since humans have been on this planet, most of existence depended on movement. If you moved fast enough, in the correct direction, at the right time- you would survive. Otherwise you would be a meal for a wild animal in the forest. Life as we live it now is very new. Our bodies are still accustomed to the past. But the reality now has changed such that we are used to sitting and being vegetative as our natural state of being. Our evolutionary instincts are still deeply embedded in our physiques without the environment for them to manifest. Without a semblance of movement and activity, our bodies are pushed into a sedentary state and the ancient instincts have no release. Even right now, as you are reading this, think of how long you’ve been sitting, look around you. Are you aware of your surroundings? Would you notice if there was a silent tiger behind your sofa?
