I’m a percussion guy

More than the notes, my sense of rhythm is finer..

When I was 8 or 10, I remember creating my music from the set of pots n pans left to dry spread on a sheet.. I would pick up two spoons and be the drummer creating rhythm patterns..

Then around 13-14 I started leaning Tabla from a very dedicated Tabla teacher: Vijay Kirpekar.. Every week we would gather in his small apartment and he would teach us. He used to tell us, you are not just learning Tabla, this will help you in studies too.. You are learning to learn!

Later I took a few lessons on the proper drum set. Only a few.

Recently, I am enjoying more of Djembe. Jamming with friends, creating rhythm patterns, jugalbandis etc etc….
